Society Meetings

Society meetings are normally held on the second Friday of each month from September to July and are free for members.  Visitors are very welcome (£2 at the door).

Perseid Meteors Observing and BBQ
At the Wembury Beach car park (map on the Join us page),
7.30pm onwards for the BBQ and it gets dark about 9.30pm. 
Please bring your own portable/disposable BBQs and food and drink.

Talks:      Title TBA, by Prof David Southwood. David is our Patron and is currently Chair of the Steering Board for the UK Space Agency. He was President of the Royal Astronomical Society from 2012-14.

Talks:      The Formation of Stars and their Planetary Systems, by Dr Claire Davies.  Claire is a Research Fellow in the Astrophysics Group at the University of Exeter.

Friday 11th May 2018
Talks:      Binocular Astronomy, by Stephen Tonkin. Stephen has a monthly column on this topic in the Sky at Night Magazine. He runs two interesting websites – The Binocular Sky and The Astronomical Unit.
